Often in graphic designing for Youtube, individuals are not able to identify the correct size of YouTube banner. Graphic Designing is a very crucial part of any business. Graphic Designing makes your business stand out from the crowd, or you can say it symbolizes your business value. Having a good YouTube channel & content is not enough for your channel to appear at the top, or you can say it is not enough for you to beat the YouTube SEO. Creating a good channel Logo and channel art is also very important.
In the making of YouTube channel art a lot of people make this mistake, they put designs without the correct measurement into the canvas, and after uploading them their designs get cut-off when users view their channel art on different devices. So for that not to happen we’ve created this post.
We’ll show you steps for the correct size of YouTube banner (on the free version). You can either watch a YouTube video of ours or read our blog on this topic.
1. Size Of YouTube Banner: Open canva on your laptop/PC and on the right side, click on create a design.
Here you’ll type YouTube Channel Art, it will show you different types of designs, choose the one with dimensions of 2560×1440 px.
Now it will take you to a blank canvas(don’t worry if you want to create it with a template we have the solution for that too). Now press “R” on your keyboard it will bring a rectangular box into the canvas.
2. Size Of YouTube Banner: Now change the measurements of that box.
Change the box dimensions(by dragging its sides) to 1544×423. You don’t have to be really precise, you can escape 2-3px on both sides, although exact would have been great. Now centralize the box on the canvas.
3. Size Of YouTube Banner: Mark the boundaries(Sides) of the box with rulers for the right measurements.
To mark the boundaries(sided) of the box with rulers. Go to the left side horizontal navigation panel then click on the file, and click on the second option called show rulers, it will activate the rulers in your designs. There is also a shortcut to bring the rulers “shift+R”. Now you can see those rulers on the left side of the design and the above.
Now hover your mouse on the left side ruler until it changes to, two sides arrow, when it does, click and drag the ruler out and place it on the right side of the box. Do this same procedure for the left side, above and below sides of the box too. You can delete that rectangular box when you’re done with it because it has no use for us.
i) The area which is shown below with light grey color is that area, which will be visible to the users when they visit your channel through mobile devices.
ii) And the area which is shown below with light grey color is that area, which will be visible to the users when they visit your channel through PC/Laptops.
iii) And the area which is shown below with light grey color is that area(the whole canvas), which will be visible to the users when they visit your channel through TV.
Now you can edit your designs in a way in channel art so that if anyone opens your YouTube channel on any device, none of your channel art designs gets cuts-off. Rulers will not be shown when you download the channel art.
4. Size Of YouTube Banner: Design with templates.
If you don’t want to create the channel art from scratch and have templates in mind. so no worries, follow the same procedure and delete the box and then add your template to the canvas and you will see that the Rulers are still there, where you have placed them earlier. You can add your own content to it with the help of the Rulers.
